Dr. Carina Niewieszol

From 2006 to 2009 Dr. Niewieszol studied chemistry at the RWTH Aachen University with a fundamental training in inorganic, organic, physical, technical, and macromolecular chemistry, finishing as a Bachelor of Science.  In the consecutive Master program Dr. Niewieszol specialized in the areas of materials and mesoscopic systems - solid state, polymers and nanostructures - as well as computational chemistry and spectroscopy. In 2010, she went to the United States for a research stay at the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. In 2012, Dr. Niewieszol was awarded  the Springorum Commemorative Coin and the Friedrich-Wilhelm Price of RWTH Aachen University for her excellent performance. Her doctoral research at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of RWTH Aachen was supported by a fulltime fellowship of the Graduate Support for the Promotion of Young Researches at RWTH Aachen, finishing in 2014 as Dr. rer nat. She has authored a number of scientific publications in the area of synthesis and structural characterization of bimetallic coordination polymers.

Since June 2014 Dr. Niewieszol is a patent attorney candidate at Leifert & Steffan
